My Bio

Queer author of queer fiction.

When queer love is revolution, be revolutionary.

Poet, painter, pagan, audhd, bipolar, author, gamer, bigender, asexual, panromantic, polyamorous, kinkster, dreamer...deviant.

Beverly L. Anderson started writing at the age of eleven, and when they did, it was apparent they were going to stick to something other than the every day. Their first story, written in a series of spiral notebooks, was about a kidnapping. There's no surprise that these days, they favor the dark corners of the psyche over the happy and fluffy parts. Enamored with the mind, they studied extensively in the subjects of psychology and related fields.

Bev's other hobbies include gaming of all types, transgender and autism advocacy, and writing fanfiction. Their interest in the BDSM community began as simple curiosity but has led her to the road to finding a place for themselves there as a Dominant. They have gone on the journey of self-discovery in the last few years, finally pinning down their identity after nearly thirty years of searching. Coming out as bigender, asexual, panromantic, and polyamorous was one of the hardest things they've ever done, but it gave them the confidence to become themselves even more. An autistic person and an eclectic pagan, Bev finds themself at odds with a lot of what society calls "normal."

Bev started their writing journey seriously in 2013 when they found their way to fanfiction. They spent several years writing over three million words in various fandoms. In the last few years, they have been drawn to making those stories into original pieces and publishing them for a wider audience. Finding their publishing home helped make that dream a reality, one that they try to help others find as well.

Hatred: I will never understand it by beverlylanderson, journal

I haven't really been around because I was diagnosed with cancer in December of last year. I have ovarian cancer, and while all evidence of visible disease was removed, I still had to go into chemo due to it being clear cell carcinoma, a cancer type that affects only 10% of ovarian cancer patients, and is known to be aggressive and platinim resistant. FYI, platinim is what makes chemo work for the most part. I'm doing the standard for ovarian cancer, carboplatnin and paclitaxil. The paclitaxil (also known as Taxol) is what caused my hair to fall out, so I'm rocking beanies and stuff these days. Sucks because it is getting hot and they're stifling when it gets over seventy. I really got lucky (well as lucky as someone gets who has cancer) because it was caught in stage 1C1. Outlook is about 85% at this grade survive five years or more. The 20th is my last chemo, then two weeks later scans and doctor appointments to talk about the scans. This has been a whirlwind, and so much

I've come across some very vocal people about the word queer. People who say it can't be reclaimed. That the word is tainted. That the word is a slur no matter what. That's fine for someone to believe. I don't believe that in the least. LGBTQAI+ means something. The Q is for Queer and Questioning, whether you like it or not. There are a lot of us who identify with the word queer. It resonates within many people, and it means more than you will ever understand. Claiming the world is ruined just shows how little you know about language and evolution of it. Words change all the time. Words are created, words are changed, words are removed from the common vernacular all the time. Just because people filled the word with hatred doesn't mean we can't transform that hatred to joy, and that's what we've done. Queer is joy. Queer is overcoming. Queer is showing people that they can't use something against us as long as we fill it with the wonder it deserves. Reclaiming the term gives

I don't get it. I really don't. Tell me why someone's identity bothers others so much? A person simply living their life, in their authentic skin, and it makes another person angry. Their actions don't harm them, don't even affect them in any way, but still they hold hate in their hearts. I pity these people. I absolutely pity them because of the shackles of hatred that pull them down. If I believed in Hell, I'd say they would be pulled that far down. I cannot imagine living with hatred and disgust every day, and feeling anger and those emotions on a daily basis over something that completely doesn't affect anyone else, not even the person with the hatred. A person's race doesn't affect another person. No matter our skin color, inside we are blood and bone. Why should someone having more melanin make them lesser? Because their ancestors came from a location that happened to have more sun? Why is that not as good as people who had ancestors that came from places with snow and little
