The Beginning of Animation School

Today, I began my year at Animation School!!

Let me tell the tale of my journey there.

I took off early, so I could give myself some extra time, to the bus station (cheapest mode of transport for me, and I need to save gas for doctor appointments for the kids), and I arrived at 1:58 PM. The next bus was due at 2:06 PM. So, I waited... ... ...and...waited... ... ...and... ... ...uh...waited... ... ...then, FINALLY, at 2:18 PM, the bus came...and...PASS RIGHT BY ME?!?!? I was at the STATION! RIGHT there! And, I know it was a station, because there were the schedules and routes in it!  BLEH. SO, I had to go walk up the road to ANOTHER bus station and wait. SIGH. My transit app on my phone said to get off at one specific stop and grab a different bus to take another route so I could get there in time. I sat down on the bench beside the only person there: an older gentleman with a backpack. He asked me where I was going, and I explained I was going to school and that it was my first day taking public transit. He started talking about how I need to get the hang of how the system works. I was okay listening to him...until he pulled out a large bottle of WINE from his backpack, cracked it open, and started DRINKING it! Then, after stuffing it back into his backpack, he lit up a cigarette right beside me (not to the side, but right beside me) without even ASKING if it was okay. AUGH! So, I left.

I walked, AGAIN, to another stop. I tried calling my hubby, but he'd stepped out with the kids to pick up some diapers, so I couldn't get a hold of him. My dad was working, and my mom didn't have a car. SO, I just went to the next stop and managed to get a bus to the bus exchange. When we got THERE, I was the last to get off...and the driver closed the doors before I could get OUT!!

"Uh...sir? I'm still in here!"

"Huh? OH! I didn't know you were even THERE!"

"Yeah...that's what I get for being so QUIET..." Yeah. Call me Miss Invisible!!! GRR.

I ran to catch the bus I needed, which was leaving right away (3:15 PM), but it pulled away just as I got to the curb. I had to wait another ten minutes...I was officially late for CLASS.

I FINALLY got the right bus, and I FINALLY got to class. And, wouldn't you know...I went into the wrong building for class. AND, when I got to the RIGHT building, I went up and down the stairs TRYING to find the door to the hallway that would take me to the classes. Otherwise, it was just STAIRS.

THANK GOODNESS one of my teachers had come out to find me! Apparently, my whole class was now wondering where I was! Haha! They practically all cheered when I came into the room! Way to go to hype up the class, gal! One of my friends there had gotten the whole class wondering about me.

From there? We learned about our teacher and the guy who wrote 'The Animator's Survival Kit'. I'm SUPER excited to start drawing tomorrow!!!!! I can't wait to get my homework started! SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!
