Evil Chica by BethanyAngelstar Evil Chica by BethanyAngelstar
Inspired by --> www.instagram.com/p/BcbWtq3H1R…

This was inspired by Markiplier's photo album he posted on his social media of Chica. There were some pictures where her eyes were rather spooky looking, and I couldn't help but see this in my head.

Human Chica is not only Markiplier's girl but apparently Darkiplier's daughter as well. Devilish

Oh, yeah! :D That's another great example of "Dark Chica". That just makes this piece work even more so. :D Thanks for that!

Really cool! She reminds me of Darla Dimple from Cats Don't Dance! "CAN YOU TELL ME WHO HERE'S AN ANGEL?!?!"

I never realized that, but she does have a little bit of Darla in her! Haha! Thanks for pointing that out!

(I don't think I'm going to unthink that now, :XD: )

Lovely and creepy!  Just out of curiosity, what program do you use for digitizing your drawings?  Every time I try to digitize (and then color) one of my sketches or line drawings, it doesn't go so well (then again, I'm using an Epson flatbed scanner & an ancient copy of PaintShop Pro)....

Thank-you! I'm super happy how it came out! :D

I use ClipStudio Paint, which used to be known as Manga Studio. I really enjoy it, but it may be a little intimidating for those who haven't used complex programs like this. They're not really complicated to use, but it's a learning curve. I recommend their tutorial videos and YouTube how-tos for that. :)

A cheap option (or free if you know where to look) is Paint Tool Sai. There are TONS of tutorials here on DA for it, and it's one of the most popular ones besides Photoshop.

You also might be able to still find Photoshop CS2 from Adobe for free on their website. It's not fancy, but it's a far sight better than PaintShop Pro.

If you're scanning in linework, there's a bit of a process in making it the best you can. You go into the scanner settings, put it up to 600 DPI (dots per inch, the higher the number, the better looking it is), and get the colour settings to black and white. Stuff like that will help get the best scan possible so you can minimize what you need to edit.

There's a lot of things you can learn to always improve your work! :) Watch speedpaints and see what they do! YouTube is a pretty good place to find those.

Ah, I've been considering ClipStudio, and since I already use Poser (which is made by the same company), the UI should be at least somewhat familiar (if it's anything like how Acid Music Studio & Vegas have very similar UIs despite one being a Digital Audio Workstation for music making/production and the other one a video editor).  My brother also recommended it (although he used the old name, Manga Stuidio), because he used both it and Adobe Illustrator when he was going to college for computer animation, and he said that it was like 1000 times easier to use than Illustrator.

I'm also thinking about taking a graphic design class at the local(ish) community college next fall semester, time & money permitting (I'm already taking a class on Music Theory at a different school this spring).

Also I have watched some speedpaints on YouTube, but they were just confusing at best....

Thanks for the info, though. :)

Graphic design classes are great, if you're interested in design and photography. It's not that great if you want to be an artist though, as it's not very free for creativity in the field. It makes for great composition and everything, but depending on what you're going into, it may or may not be the course for you. If you want to learn how to manipulate photos, set up covers for magazines/books, and other cool things like that, then go for it. :) But, if you're looking for anatomy, illustration, and such like that, you'll be better off with an art course or animation course.

I will totally agree that Clip Studio Paint is WAY easier than Adobe Illustrator. I tried using AI before, and it was a complete fail. I couldn't understand the vector thing at all. It was actually through this program that I was able to understand what vector was and how to use the tools. :)

Good luck with everything! :D

Oh, I've already had courses in actual drawing & mixed-media sketch art at Penn State & picked up quite a bit of the other stuff from various places over the intervening 20 years.  I just need to learn how to translate that into converting that into a digital format (well, non-3d digital format, since I can generally do fairly well with Poser & Bryce, but that's beside the point) that doesn't look completely amateurish, hence the graphic design classes, or at the very least, classes on how to use Adobe Illustrator or Clip Studio....

There are some pretty cool classes you can find. I know Clip Studio Paint has a bunch of them on their site for free. :)

Thanks! :D (Big Grin)  I will be! I love my little headcanon of human Chica, and his videos of her on Facebook haven't been helping my obsession with her! Haha! I might end up with some comics of her and Mark in the future. :D
