My new and improved Large Hammer (+2 Against Girls)!
The large hammer that I made for my Ramona Flowers costume on Free Comic Book Day a few months ago was a little faulty [the hammer head kept shifting; the shape reminded me of a shoebox; etc], so I decided to make a brand new hammer for San Diego Comic Con 2010.
Bonus points: Bryan Lee O'Malley signed it!</b>
Materials: 36" wooden dowel, cardboard, foam chair pad (to fill and secure the interior of the hammer), 1.25" duct clamp (placed inside the hammer on the wooden dowel to secure the hammer head from slipping), paper-mache/newspaper, gesso, spray paint ["hammered" metal with accents of black and silver spray paint], black cord, small silver hook, large gold jingle bell.
