the last of the mohicans by ~beri is an intense portrait full of power and beauty. It's got just enough softness around the edges to almost trick the mind into believing it was taken a long time ago. And it's got just enough use of high contrast and makeup to bring us back to the present to appreciate it's edginess. Overall it's a fantastic shot combining very different time periods. the links to art that this is featured in are all deactivated :(
I have drawn this for my sister and I want to credit the artist I drew it after but I cannot find it. I was shocked at the similarities of this picture to the drawing that I had originally seen and I have no doubt it was taken from this photo.
If there is any way you can help, more links or anything please let me know

Hi! Ahh I finally found you! Ok, I copied (tried to) this picture from somewhere and was just planning on doodling it, but I kind of like how it turned out, so I was wondering if I could upload my drawing of this to deviantart. I will credit you, of course.

Oh. Well, do you already know and are just asking me so you can say something different, or do you not really know, or does this have a reference to something I wouldn't know so I would be wrong?

Oh..XD sorry...well, the hair-do(at least there version) and name mohawk comes from Native tribes , and I'm pretty sure they wore mohawk headdresses like most Natives. The headdresses nowadays are just worn on top of the head with a tie or strap that goes under the chin, but in the past they would shave there heads and clip them on there remaining hair if I remember correctly. The head dresses where usually made of dyed horse hair or porcupine quills. There the mod common kind of headdress, and there are many variations of them that where worn a lot.

Mohawks were different than Mohicans. Mohawks were part of the Iroquois confederacy and the Mohicans were Algonquian. Often the two (and I assure we are two different tribes) are confused and assumed to be one in the same.

no, but it was bought on ebay (or something like that) so it's more like a disguise, i guess, nothing 'special'.

I don't know much about art criticism, but this is wonderful. If she is an American Indian or not, she is quite lovely with the headdress.
