Due to various life circumstances, I've significantly cut back the number of conventions I'm attending as an artist, though I haven't quite settled into how many I want to do from this point on.

Hey all. I thought I should let folks know I have a table in the Artist Alley at Pittsburgh Comicon next weekend, Septermber 26th through the 28th. I'll be selling prints, ACEOs, and wooden pendants (and possibly other things). I'll be in section AA.

Hi all. I was challenged on Facebook to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. I did the video, but my finances are such that I couldn't make an immediate, suitable donation. But what I decided I could do was put up a charity commission for a pendant on eBay. So I did.

I'm starting the bidding at $10. My pendant commissions are normally a minimum of $20. 100% of the sale price will go to the ASL Association, and I'm providing free first class shipping within the U.S.

Examples of pendants I have already made are available in my Jewelry Gallery. I am most proficient with animals and mythological creatures, but am happy to discuss other subjects as well.

$22.00 USD: One made-to-order, unstained wood-burned pendant. Each pendant is burned by hand on wooden craft blanks currently available in the following shapes and approximate sizes:

* Circles (1.5" in diameter, 1/4" thick)
* Diamond (2" across, 1/8" thick)
* Heart (1.5" across, 1/8" thick)

Each pendant will be protected by a thin layer of a water-based sealant (unless otherwise requested) and includes an 18" black imitation leather necklace cord with zinc alloy clasps.

The time to completion may vary due to both the number of orders at a given time, as well as weather conditions (I exclusively do my wood-burning projects outside for both safety and health reasons). I would expect most to be finished and ready to ship within a week of the order being placed, but will of course keep buyers updated of the order's status.

Payment must be made up-front. No additional charge for first-class shipping within the U.S. Buyers outside of the U.S., please contact me for case-by-case shipping arrangements. Hi all! I'm terrible when it comes to updating this journal here. But right now I actually have things to say.

So, the short version of this story is I'm being laid off from my day job. As part of my way of coping with this both emotionally and financially, I will be not only updating my Etsy store more often (particularly with these nifty wood-burned pendants I've become fond of making), but I will likely be opening commissions soon.

There may be other fundraising efforts as well. Will be updating again soon when all of the details are ironed out.
