See you at San Diego Comic Con 2013
So I will be at San Diego Comic Con once again in Artist Alley ( DD-23 ). I will be available to do sketches and commissions and have copies of posters for sale. I'll allso be selling any remaining self-published sketchbooks I have left. I'll also have copies of Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave #3 ( with my story Second to None ) available for sale. I'll also sign your copy Star Wars Storyboards: The Prequel Trilogy. Or just come by and say hello!
Leave The Line Alone!
As I look through today's mainstream comics I notice the art has become a lot more colorful. Digital color has made it so much easier and quicker to do the work. What bothers me is that sometimes I see so much coloring and rendering that I can't see the beauty of the linework/brushwork. Guys from past to present, be it Milton Caniff, Joe Kubert, Jaime Hernandez, Paul Pope....they all have a unique pen line that describes what they were doing. Now I'm seeing all this overdone colorwork, airbrush, rendering. I can't see what the artist had in mind. It's all covered up! Sometimes it's nice just to have flatly, but thoughfully applied trans
Just got back from San Diego Comic-Con, where I had a booth at Artist's Alley. DeviantART was gracious enough to sponsor us artists and make it a great place to meet the fans at the convention this year. This is my first journal posting to deviantART. Looking forward to seeing how all this works getting to know you all.
