"End of the line kid, just like you asked." the train conductor's grainy voice echoed throughout the empty cabin.
Lara's eyes struggled to adjust to the overwhelming amber bloom of the afternoon sky since it had been nothing but a gloomy overcast on her journey up to this point. She wondered, if she were the superstitious type, she could've taken it as a sign that she had finally escaped the deep horror that she had been desperately running from for the past few weeks. With a tired sigh, she slowly got up from the lumpy seat of the train, catching a glimpse of her reflection in the scratched up train windows.
