Designer or Developer?!

I am now working as a developer rather than a designer, which I feel not comfortable... I really try to learn javascript and jQuery, but seems it takes me a lot of time to learn from the very basic stuff... A bit struggle and worry about my career as a Designer -> Senior Designer -> Design Manager ... OH, where is my path??????? Now I am Designer -> Head of Design -> Web Developer....... SHIT!!! I lost the path already!!!
