AI is a computer program that uses 1s and 0s to collect data. It's good for running simulations or making an algorithm, but when it comes to making art, it just doesn't compare. In collecting the data to creating a new image, AI looks to 1000s of drawings made by actual artists and mashes them all together to form a close approximation to what the user write in the prompt. If someone wrote "Spider-Man fighting demons in Hell" into a prompt on one of the top AI image generators, do you think you'll get a dope as heck drawing of Spider-Man punching and webbing demons in a fiery background with Satan cackling? Of course not. What you'll actually get is Spider-Man badly photoshopped into a drawing of demons with off lighting, inconsistent textures, and unnecessary additional limbs or fingers on the characters. This is because AI lacks imagination, focus, and most importantly, patience. The greatest works of art of all time took the artist hours, days, weeks, months, or even years to craft. The Mona Lisa took Leonardo da Vinci 16 years to paint. The Statue of David took Michaelangelo 2 years to sculpt. It also to Michaelangelo around 4 years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. AI speeds up the process of making drawings, but at the cost of making them meaningful and well thought out. If you're someone that uses AI generators to make art, you're not a real artist. You're no more an artist than I am an IT engineer because I have a basic knowledge of the Internet. If you have an idea for a cool drawing but don't have to drive or patience to put in the work yourself, just commission an artist on here or Newgrounds to do it for you. You're guaranteed to get a much better and well put together drawing than anything AI pumps out.
