Patriarchal Blessing (Traditional Painting)

"And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn".

Genesis 48:14

When I been learning about this blessing, I began to realize how Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ loves me, and how They focus on me individually. Just like everyone does.

Patriarchs are gentle, obedient, and incredible leaders called God. They tell members many wonderful spiritual experiences.

Worthy baptized members may receive their patriarchal blessing when the time is right for them.

Patriarchal blessings are messages from Heavenly Father and will likely include promises and inspired counsel to guide anyone throughout our lives.

A patriarchal blessing is not going to map out our lives or answer all the questions we want to ask.

If we live worthy, however, promises that are not fulfilled in this life will be granted in the next.

You can share it with whoever you feel the Spirit to share it with. It is sacred, not secret. If you have a special spiritual moment in sharing the gospel with someone, you can share something about your blessing. Members need to learn the difference between sacred and secret.

My patriarchal blessing will help me understand my true eternal identity—who I really was and who I could become.
