Citipati (Digital Painting)

As a dweller of a semi-arid environment, Citipati probably required a light, heat reflective overall coloration with bare patches on the face and throat for temperature regulation. The forearms, whether raised or lowered, provided shade and allowed air movement over the eggs, thus maintaining a correct incubation temperature.
