This is a tiny kitten I found in a street in Braives, Belgium. He was totally lost and scared. With a little help, he finally got back to his family safely...

On the picture, I tried to give the baby a huge presence (emphasizing the eyes' expression) and make him look even more fragile...

...but still willing to survive.

The above picture has been shot with the Samsung NX10, provided by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

Little by Little

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

There is always some sign
Giving me purposes letting me find
Little by little I will reline
Reaching my highway leaving behind
All that's nothing without or strong
Penny are wasted never again
Let there be something in this song
That gives me a heart not searching in vain

All or nothing is how I was born
Reaching my aim and my desire
Thoughts are wasted some are wind-borne
Taking their dream higher and higher
Here I'm wanting like everyone distinct
To go ahead cause I gotta find out
We have our time before we go extinct
What we can do what it's all about

Little by little I'm gonna look
Though I don't know exactly where
Aiming for something play by the book
Taking the steps that I might dare
Give what I can before it's too late
Reaching a goal reaching a dream
Isn’t life indubitable oh isn't it great
Everyone going ahead with their scheme

Hello!
honestly, i love everything about this picture. it's a gorgeous shot, and I'm rather shocked the kitten didn't run! i can also see the kitten's shock well reflected in the eyes. and sheen of his fur shows very nicely as well! i love how you put this in Grayscale, but i think it would have a bit more.. impact had you gray scaled everything BUT the eyes. that would have been a rather nice touch. other then that, i cannot find ANY flaws in this picture! it's also a very nice quality shot as well as beautiful. the kitten's face is also rather priceless, it's a rather neat shot all together!

This picture is magnificent, I'm surprised the kitten didn't run on you once you found it. This camera is definitely capable of taking great shots while revealing every detail in the picture. You can really see every part of this picture as if you were there with the cat. Every picture is apparently worth 1000 words, and what you did for this cat was fantastic, most people will just randomly take pictures of animals (Kind of like what you have been doing, except you travelling the world and seeing them, which I'm sure is great fun <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/> ) then forget them after the picture is taken. You, however, helped this poor defenseless little guy back home to his family, adding reason and a backstory to the picture. Your technique in this photo seemed like you wanted to really emphasize the cat, and it turned out well. Often when there is alot of blank space in a shot it will draw away from what you are trying to really show people, but considering the boldness of the colour of the cat clashing with the colour of the ground, it seems to just keep adding on to the shot.

Overall:
18/20

Very impressive, an adorable photo, and the backstory just makes it all the better. Good work!

Wow! Nice Critique SG! O.o
Clearly I've underestimated you on this. XD

On what? Critiquing(?)?

I dont want to troll or whatever ... But I am not sure if you can count the backround story he obviously added at the Artist Comment and not in any way to the image to the critique like it is a good fact about it.
Of course you can mention it quickly but not write a big part of the critique about it.

And I think you actually interpretate a lot in this picture which isnt there. At all. Maybe it isnt just for me, but I wanted to mentioned.
And I wouldnt give the originality 4 stars. I hope you are aware of millions of kitten images here on DeviantArt.

My own thought of this image is that i think you can definately see that he took his time retouching a bit on the kittens fur & its face. :/

Have a nice day!

I just tried to give the kitten a huge presence and make him look even more tiny and fragile... but still willing to survive.

There is actually another heartbreaking story behind this baby cat (I might reveal it soon). All I can say right now is that this kitten definitely deserves to become immortal.

But for me it unfortunately looks fake and as you wanted to let him look .. perfect? And in this case it isnt matching to the story.

Hm, probably.

There is nothing fake in this photo. Read my comment to see what I've done instead of spreading your negative thoughts

The backstory is why I gave him some stars for originality, I also gave him some because he doesn't just take pictures of random animals he sees somewhere, he travels the world and takes pictures of different animals. Unlike some people here on DA who are like "Aww, look at my kitten, isn't he cute?" but this is original in that way that he just found the kitten and returned him to a happy home.

Now I think you should understand what I meant :D

Hm ... I dont agree with the backround because it isnt special but I agree with the second, longer, part. ;D
I'd say 3.5 stars for originality.
