Vintage Star Wars Comic Pumps by BenaeQuee Vintage Star Wars Comic Pumps by BenaeQuee
Decoupage vintage Star Wars comics shoes. I used comics from about 1980 (older than me!) and found the panels I liked best, but them out and decoupaged them on these super comfy ebay shoes. Total cost = $20. I finished the top edges with a cloth tape and accented with a thin line of chrome paint. The heel tip was also painted chrome. The sole edges were painted with a black cosmic sparkle paint - which you can't really see, but it looks cool close up.
Don't worry, the comics I used weren't super rare and were low grade anyway. I love the duel between Vader and Luke on the left foot.
Now I just need somewhere to wear them :-)

Wow, I'm so jealous! how do you stop the paper from creasing along the top as you walk?

Thanks! They do crease a little bit, it's the nature of the material used. If you use enough top coat to protect it though, it is not as noticeable.

That's awesome! What kind of glue stuff did you use? When I try using Mod Podge it comes out kind of gummy.

Also, I love your tights. :D

Thanks! I used plain old Acrylic Gloss Medium and it works great. Goes on smooth and dries really fast. I should hit them up with a clear gloss spray to give it a final water resistant seal though.
I love those tights, I can't find them anymore, so I only wear them for special occasions.
