New England Stamp by BellaCielo New England Stamp by BellaCielo
Something for all my fellow New Englander deviants, fans of the region or historic vexillology. :)

There are a few different historic New England flags I could have used, but I decided to go with perhaps the most well-known one - Jonathan Trumbell's Bunker Hill Flag / Third Flag of New England / 1775 New England Revolutionary War flag. I admit it's also my personal favorite (even if its historical accuracy is questioned). You can read more about it here

Third New England flag graphic came from Wikimedia Commons and was made a part of the public domain by its creator.
Feel free to use this anywhere you'd like, though if it's off DeviantArt I would appreciate a link back to the original deviation page!

You know, the first time I saw that flag, I honestly thought it was for a place in Canada ^^;
(Granted, the rest of the US seems very lax about their flags...except Texas; where they plaster the fucking thing and the state's shape onto anything and everything to remind you where you are \ where the item came from)

Considering the number of Canadian stereotypes and New Englander stereotypes that overlap, you might not be far off.

I don't think any state has as much fervor for their flag as Texas, but quite a few come close! California and Maryland jump to mind, possibly because their flags are impossibly cool-looking...

Texas is a breed apart, to be sure...  Ohio is also getting inordinately proud of its flag, though it's semi-justified in their case (other than Nepal, it's the only current state/national flag in the world that isn't rectangular).

I like this New England flag, though it does put me a little bit in mind of Canada's Red Ensign.  The pine tree is a very nice touch.
