YOU are gorgeous and your talent as a model is remarkable. i have taken great pleasure in reviewing your work. normally, i dont take the time to type anything, for anyone. i am overjoyed to see, in this age of (likely) porn-inspired "clean shaving" the natural furry endowments left intact. someone has described it like this, "even just in terms of visual composition...the bush is preferable. it is an anchor, a counterweight." and... it is effing beautiful. here, it repeats the the deep tones in the concavity of your hanging top locks and the that in the heater ( which, in fact does NOT detract but adds dimension to the flowing lines of the baseboard)... anyhow... geez, you are lovely- toes and up...

..Ok I dont get all the comments purely based on grooming. I agree with you, its completely beside the point. I love this piece, I think its really lovely, and definatley portrays a sense of awkwardness thats very easy to relate to. The contrast is perfect, and I love the expression on your face :)

The photo is fantastique in all aspects, including your pose. :)

About the pubic hair, everybody has the right to have their own opinion, the problem is the way how they express it.

I like very much to see pubic hair, and normally ask my models to have them, despite some of them don't like bush. But why I like it? Because causes much more impact and more contrast in the photos. Otherwise is only bare skin like the rest of the body.

Thank you

Peter

First off, and for what it's worth, I really like this image. There are a number of reasons for that, but I won't bore anyone with my aesthetic motivations.

I'm dismayed at some of the comments, of course. Any reasonable, polite person would be. But I've been around on the 'net for long enough to know that there's all sorts out there, one has to take the good with the bad.

To those who post, even if you sometimes don't quite get the comments you want, good job. Keep it up!

This is too wired: They are complaining that you are automatically correct and HU-Man??
"I have read the "discussion" regarding the "grooming". I do not tolerate rude comments such as one or more that have been made here. " What is that ! not art.

Well, I was going to comment on e-string's critique when I discovered that you have to pay to critique...I find that wildly amusing.

Anyway, I'll just say here what I was going to say there.

I think e-string did a very good critique. I agree that the heater is a distraction from the very pure lines of the room. If it were my photo I'd probably clone the heater out in PhotoShop. It wouldn't be hard to do and would strengthen the composition.

I understand what e-string is saying about your pubic hair, but I disagree that it has any significant impact on the strength of the photo. There are other dark areas in the composition, including most notably the underside of the hair on your head. That dark area provides an echo of the dark pubic hair and helps hold the figure together, compositionally, in my opinion. And, besides, it's a photo of a nude female figure and pubic hair is a natural part of the nude female figure. The only thing I noticed about your pubic hair in this photo was how neatly it was trimmed. The lines of that neat trimming even add a little to the overall theme of the photo. The composition is about the contrast of the lines of the room to the curves of the figure, with the added interest of the legs and arms providing lines that contrast to the lines of the room. All very effective.

And the hand coming out of your head didn't bother me until e-string mentioned it. Now it does a bit. If I had been behind the camera I might have had you adjust your pose to change that, but I might well have chosen this frame anyway, if the change in pose lessened the strength of the other elements of the photo.

I hate critiques. One thing I learned in photo school was just how full of shit most critiques are. In the rare times when I offer one I try to make it helpful, as opposed to critical. Really all this is is my opinion, not really a critique.

And please do ignore the ignorant assholes who have been making pubic hair comments. They are idiots, not worthy of anyone's attention.

You look like a broken doll or a spider off the wall. Everything look so cold, frozen to immobility. I don't think I like that one, it reminds me some 80's works with its lmack of wrmth and sensuality (but of course it is what the photographer had in mind): coldness of the light, bare whithe walls, broken limbs, frozen face.

Great pose! Very interesting, like a Marionette without the strings. The cold lighting is wonderful also. It looks like you're in some kind of clinic. The only distraction is the baseboard heating. Definitely a standout image. Excellent!

I agree with Roster. Its a bit too much.. Since the whole picture is bright and white, it draws the eyes straight in. I understand that grooming is a personal preference, but my opinion is that it would have been better if it wasn't so "loud".

I swear there are times when I almost feel compelled to apologize on behalf of the male gender for the boorish comments some men make.... please ignore them...

This is a great photo. Your pose is excellent, and for the record I think the contrast between the bright white of the window area and the dark of the pubic hair works brilliantly. And as others point out there's a lot of geometric contrast going on in the photo and it all works very well.

Wonderful work!

I happen to agree with *noughtagroos. The dark patch of hair is a wonderful contrast with all the light and a lovely complement to the geometries.

I was recently rejected by a photographer for classical outdoor nudes because I won't shave completely. There are certain times when I can understand a desired look for body hair, but not when it is simply a blanket preference without regard to the art.

The human body is an incredibly beautiful creation. Hair happens to be a part of that, and does not detract one bit from at artistic presentation of the body. This piece is a representation of the human form for how the artist (model and photographer) choose to present it. This is a wonderful piece, something natural and emotional. Hair on the pubic area shows the female to be mature, grown woman, and again, something to be amazed at, not made to be critisized for.

So what you are saying is that because the model and the photographer and you think it should be that way, that I should have the exact same opinion. Rocker you just explained something that a person going through puberty needs to know. I'm all ready aware of why its there and what it represents. Do you mean to say that if a girl does shave herself clean that the photos taken of her are not artistic? Can't I be of the opinion that in this case it detracts from the image?

Since when does anything concerning ART have anything to do with making sense? I have an opinion and I'm sticking to it. But according to your argument.. You should let your underarm hair grow really long and bushy. But no one would like that. It would detract from the image if for no other reason than it not fitting into the social norm. Are you seriously going to argue with someone over their personal opinion anyway? Just because I don't like it in this image doesn't mean its wrong or right...
