Description
CardsForConservation is a project to raise money for wildlife conservation. Said simply, I'll draw cards, sell them, and the proceeds are given to a selected organization or initiative dealing with protecting wildlife.
For this batch, I'm using @Kitsumeo's FebROARy prompts, and the money will go to the Snow Leopard Trust
The cards will be posted for sale on my Ko-fi on the 28th: ko-fi.com/beckykidus64590
If you want to preclaim a card, send a note!
The sand cat (Felis margarita) lives, as the name suggests, in deserts - most specifically, North African, Arabian and Middle Eastern deserts. Like other desert-dwelling mammals like the fennec, they are recognizable on their pale fur, large ears, and fluffy paws to protect against the heat. They also hunt by night, mostly attacking rodents and birds, but also the occasional snake - and is fast enough to kill venomous ones. The species is listed as Least Concern.
Day 11 of the challenge, card 8, and the first one using one of my own photos as reference. I have seen several of the previously posted felines - the fishing cat, the snow leopard, and the jaguarundi - but I didn't quite have good enough photos of them... For example, my fishing cat photos are of a spotted heap in a high ledge, and that's not exactly usable The sand cat, however, posed nicely!
