and how the dust motes danced

in the air, in the light,

as you rested, a poofy donut.

I remember a circle of fur

soft as the softest silk,

and how your gentle soul

vibrated in your purrs.

I will remember you, old friend,

and your song echoing here and there

in those vivid summer days

as you chanted in triumph, hungry ball.

I remember a Christmas tree,

its lights shining bright

and you draped in them,

world's cutest ornament.

Now you're free to roam and wander,

dashing through the starry skies.

As you watch over us, ethereal cat,

I will remember you, old friend.
