What do you think, is it an improvement? ;D

Today I want to talk a bit about where my costume came from, a post I’ve been wanting to do for a while!

On the left is the costume Scarecrow made for Becky Albright, when he asked her to be his Mistress of Fear. As you can see, it’s, uh… Well, he gets a gold star for effort! The idea behind my costume is that Becky has taken on the title of Mistress of Fear, but for her own reasons and purpose - NOT for Scarecrow(which I’ll get into later). She has taken what Crane made her & gutted it, in order to make it her own as well as more practical. The mask is halved, preserving the gas mask(to protect against the effects of Fear toxin), but the eyes show to remind both Scarecrow and Batman that there’s a human being under there.

There are also significant details added, such as the crow skulls and feathers - which are aesthetically consistent, BUT also hold symbolic meaning in relation to the character. I’ll talk about those in the next post. ;)

This design, especially the small details, is important to me because while it’s LOOSELY based on the comic, the rest is completely from my own imagination. It’s my OWN interpretation of the character - which ties in to my own backstory as to why she’d wear it in the first place.

More to come in my next post. Thank you for reading! :)

Can I ask what material you use for the hood?

Wow... ah, but I have to admit, though remarkablyly true to the original, it looks a lot better than I expected.

I simply cannot understand her reacting with such horror. Oh well.
