Coyote Sketches

Description

I've been doing this off and on all weekend. A good chunk of the expressions were done during Daishocon while waiting around for commissions on Friday. I also did a bit of this just now and also on my lunch break at work. I did do other sketches, but I'm saving those for a book. \o/

SINCE I GOT NEW WATCHERS/DAISHO PEOPLE WILL BE SEEING THIS, LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT THIS EVEN IS.

This here is Sheldon Coyote (he prefers to go by Coyote, since he finds his first name embarrassing). He's one of the main people in Noir, a story that's currently a work in progress. If you picked up the Noir postcard, he's the guy on the far left.

I decided to doodle him because he tends to give me the most trouble in the Noir art style. Noir is, unlike A Loonatic's Tale, a lot more reserved and closer to realism. Coyote's the exception to the rule, as he's a bit more exaggerated and expressive than the other characters. Because of that, it's hard to have him be super expressive while still being in the Noir style. I liked how these turned out a lot, myself. |D

OTHER DUMB INFO:

* He's horribly accident prone, like near-lethal levels. This is why his nose is crooked and he has that "fang" poking out (broken nose and chipped tooth from previous bad accidents).

* He's a very enthusiastic... accountant. He's really good at numbers. People tend to pay him to do their taxes for them.

* If his life was a D&D campaign, he'd be a hardcore lawful good. He always does his best to help others, but most of the time he bumbles it.

I like his body language, which seems to show his personality really well <3 And yeah I just love characters that have eyes like that, I dunno why, small pupils seem more expressive <3 :D
