Beastrider9's Profile Picture
Logan Savoie
Artist | Hobbyist | Traditional Art
United States
My name is Logan John Savoie, I live in Louisiana and have been drawing ever since I was 2(Although they weren't very good but I got better as you can see but I digress) and I draw my pictures with ink pens as the scraping sound of a pencil drives me mad.

I grew up reading horror, and none frightened and facinated me more than the works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. He created what would become my major inspiration for many of my drawing, of course he was not the only one. I enjoy Horror, Fantasy and most of all Science Fiction. I have read many stories, from the old to the new. From the works of Bram Stoker to Stephen King. From J.R.R. Tolkien to George R.R. Martin. From Jules Vern to Harlan Ellison.

I like media of all kinds really, movies, music, cartoons, anime, comics, television, games, and everything in between.

I'm a nerd. Hope you like my drawings.

Sci-Fi Re-imagined: Mansquito
Dr. Jennifer Allen sought to find a cure for a disease known as the Gillen virus. In her search for a cure she captured infected mosquitoes and give them small doses of radiation(Now believed to be the same form of Radiation that created the Doomtrooper). The levels of the radiation have to be exact because if the mosquitoes receive too much radiation, the results could be more devastating than the virus itself.

When moving to human trials the condemned criminal Ray Erikson joins Dr. Allen's program in exchange for a lifelong prison sentence. However he manages to escape and take a hostage to convince Dr. Allen to open the door to the experiment room, during this time security guards open fire on Ray and cause an explosion that showers both Ray and Dr. Allen with chemicals and the genetically altered mosquitoes. Ray manages to flee the scene heading towards his girlfriends house, unknowingly changed by the explosion.

An unpredictable mutation caused Ray to mutate drastically into a human-mosquito hybrid with an insatiable thirst for blood. After his transformation the Mosquito human hybrid feeds on his girlfriend, killing her.

Dr. Allen returns home to her boyfriend, Baltimore Police Lieutenant Tom Randal. That night she discovers raw looking flesh on her wrist that spreads to her entire arm by next morning.  Dr. Allen begins to exhibit a sudden craving for blood after she bites Tom during a kiss, which causes her to rush into the bathroom where she discovers her arm bleeding before she begins to violently convulse and falls to the floor.

Tom later arrives home of Rays girlfriend and discovers her dead and drained of blood. After being called to investigate another crime scene, he encounters Mansquito. Tom fights the monster and nearly dies as a result until Tom shocks it with a stun gun, making the Mansquito flee in pain.

Dr. Allen returns to her lab where she discovers she is changing into a human-mosquito hybrid, but at a greatly reduced pace due to receiving a much smaller dosage than Ray. After this discovery she encounters the Mansquito who merely observes her for a moment before leaving. Dr. Allen faints and is discovered by Tom who brings her to the Hospital.

Dr. Allen becomes convinced that the Mansquito senses that she is soon to become something like him, and is waiting for the transformation to complete before he attempt to mate with the resulting creature Dr. Allen will become.

During this time the Mansquito mutates further by spontaneously growing fully functional wings.

After several fights with the Mansquito, all of which fail, he manages to make it to the lab after Dr. Allen who mutated further, managed to releases the last batch of genetically altered mosquitoes, which have been perfected.

Dr. Allen attempts suicide but is stopped as the Mansquito arrives, Tom manages to fight against the creature, managing to injure it again when he uses his taser. Seeing this, Dr. Allen breaks an electrical line and electrocutes both herself and Mansquito to death.

While eventually the Gillen virus indeed was wiped out by the altered mosquitoes. It is unknown if all the released Mosquitoes were perfected.
Klavigar Saarn
From the SCP Foundation Sarkicism Hub

A figure of reverence and supposed disciple of Ion. Associated with darkness, secrecy, deception, poison, assassination, and justice (or jaka). Epithets include: the Whisperer, the Coiled Shadow, the Faceless One, and the Judgment of Ion. A young house servant, she quietly endured Daevite abuse throughout her life. Having suffered long enough, she calmly murdered the entire household with poison, garrote, and dagger. Captured, she would be imprisoned within the fortress city of Kurst.

Saarn was awaiting execution when first approached by Ion, who moved through the dungeon walls like "the mist of Summer's snow-melt". There he said: "The winds whispered of your actions. There is no evil in the Judgment. You did not choose to be the vessel of our will. Many will die this day but you are needed alive". The prophet's hand is described as having transformed into "a wolfish maw", tearing apart the cell door with its teeth and liberating Saarn.

Honing her skills, Saarn would eventually control a network of spies and assassins. A Daevite tablet describes their efficacy in graphic detail, including men and women disemboweled in the streets and Daevite infants strangled in their own cradles by "traitorous servants".

Klavigar Orok

From the SCP Foundation Sarkicism Hub

A figure of reverence and supposed disciple of Ion. Associated with strength, war, violence, wilderness, hunting and, seemingly in contradiction, loyalty and revolt. Epithets include: the Horned Beast, the Brute Lord, and the Pale Hunter. Described as being of unnatural physical strength, Orok was the product of alchemical and thaumaturgical experimentation on slaves. Enthralled to Matriarch Aśvighoṣa, the ruling Daeva in the city of Jel, Orok served as a bodyguard and pit-fighter.

It is written that Ion, when taking the city of Jel, entered the palace of Matriarch Aśvighoṣa (presumably, the highest authority in the city). He requested that the matriarch should leave and take with her a message to the "Daeva of Daevas", lest she suffer retribution. Refusing his ultimatum, the matriarch ordered Orok to destroy him. It is written that Orok hesitated, his "runes of bondage [setting] his starved soul aflame so that his body became spirit"; turning to his matriarch, he struck Aśvighoṣa, his fist imbued with the very power she had forced upon him, and reduced her body to "cinder and ash and heavenly starlight".

Klavigar Lovataar

From the SCP Foundation Sarkicism Hub

Associated with sex, love, eroticism, pleasure, motherhood, disease, and unrestrained reproduction (breeding, cancers, growth, etc.). Epithets include: the One Whom Ion Most Desired, the Highblood Redeemer, and the Mother (on rare occasion "Brood" or "Hive" Mother). A priestess, as well as the daughter of a Daeva Matriarch, she was initially in opposition to Ion - whose revolution threatened her way of life. It is written that her hatred for Ion eventually became a sort of infatuation. Unable to remove him from her mind, she sought to capture and bind him as her consort.

In her quest to make him hers, Lovataar sent wave after wave of slave-hunters but none returned. In time, it would be Ion who came to her by his own accord. It is written that Ion visited her in the night, bypassing her guards and appearing within her bedchamber. Instead of attacking, he sat upon the edge of the bed and quietly spoke to her. What was said is unknown. but resulted in Lovataar and Ion forming a "union" over a period of twelve days. On the twelfth day, the two left her palace behind - never to return.

As 1 Cthulhu Mythos fan to another, I’m working on a story involving Lovecraft’s work, where the Outer Gods & their inferiors succeeded in retaking Earth, & there’s a ragtag resistance movement made of humankind & the eldritch/otherwise metaphysical species allied with humankind trying to take Earth back.

They lose. Hard.

It's not like the Great Old Ones really even care about earth at all, and the only reason there are so many Great Old Ones there is because there are just that many Great Old Ones spread across the cosmos, but even if they did care about earth it wouldn't matter.

I mean humans, even with alien help aren't much compared to the metaphysical manifestation/personification of the Space Time Continuum (Yog-Sothoth) or the embodiment of life and nature (Shub-Niggurath) Or their all powerful magnificent bastard of a messenger with the personality of the devil (Nyarlathotep) or the multitude of powerful alien deities who aren't technically alive and therefore can never truly die (Great Old Ones).

Then you have the Deep Ones who are follow Dagon and Mother Hydra who themselves follow Cthulhu with their army of Shoggths that are basically the Thing from the John Carpenter film mixed with an amoeba. Then you have the Starspawn and the Thousand Young of Shub-Niggurath and the minions of incomprehensible abominations from beyond the veil of time and space who twist physics with their mere being and warp thought with but a shadow of their presence.

Well, our side has:
  • The Nightgaunts (they feel they owe an old friend, & mostly just help where they can)
  • Yag-Kosha (main therapist for the human side. Fitting for the guy behind Ganesha.)
  • The Ghouls (our ambush troops, using their infamous tunnel network to pop up from out of nowhere & beat the unholy crap out of unsuspecting cultists & oblivious abominations. In addition to their deadly claws, this story portrays them having an organ in their shoulder that functions like an electromagnetic induction slug hurler)
  • The Elder Things (our main source for non-weapon military tech stuff. Bear in mind that the Elder Things are not normally inimical towards mortals, & the 1s at The Mountains of Madness just had a hysterical overreaction to unfamiliar circumstances)
  • The Mi-Go (our intel beings regarding the eldritch horrors that pop up over the course of the Eldritch Wars. They know Shub-Niggurath’s weaknesses in & out)
  • The Great Species (our main weapons source. Pretty much all weapons made by the human side of the Eldritch Wars are Great Species products)
  • The Dimensional Shamblers (our shock troops for hostile environments. In this setting, they have a lot of resistance to explosives, & can shoot lightning that always hits its mark unless the mark takes cover)
  • Shoggoths (our moles & undercover soldiers, plus they fill in when required technology isn’t available.)
& before you ask, yes, the lightning cameras are involved.

Most of these wouldn't be working with humans to any meaningful capacity, and even if they did they would still all die horribly.

You'd be surprized at just how extensive Lovecraft's mythos has become. Some expanded from books others from RPG's.
