America is spoiled.
Average Local Salary: The average monthly salary of a worker in Vietnam is about $148 per month; those in high paying jobs bring home around $500 per month.
Average Local Salary: A middle-class salary in Costa Rica averages USD $750. In smaller cities, a monthly income is roughly $450 (which just above the country's minimum age). These fluctuate by region/city.
Despite this calculation the median wage in the US for 2019 is about 35,977 USD (~2998 USD/month).
It was hard for me to appreciate the quality of life I had in America until I went to Costa Rica, the richest country at the time in the area, and there were pot holes the size of cars everywhere. It's been revamped a bit since then, but the fact remains that if the average person in Costa Rica makes $750 per month, divided into $3,000, is four times as much money earned for the average American. Now let's look at Vietnam, whos average salary is $148, divided into $3,000, is twenty times as much money earned for the average American. Lastly, I have a Canadian buddy from Toronto that moved to America for the shopping and I was shocked to find out shopping sucks in Canada, which is a 1st world country. So if you think you're poor in America, get over yourself.
Life before the Internet.
Fear and thinking alot of what's going to happen or comparing your life with others, (and I mean those with insecurities), is part of the problem.
Bring your self back on common sense and appreciate the gift that you have,,. Just look into other poor parts of the world and you'll realize that you were living like king.
Great work soldier, I hope this count as little help at least, best wishes for you and for whom you care about ✌
I agree, and once again I was in Costa Rica which was one of the richest countries in the area, and it still didn't compare to the amount of wealth Americans have access to. Thanks dudes, that helped for sure, Americans need to wake the fuck up.
