Yeah, you are so right.
but who cares anyway. Judging art is overrated itself, you know.

I just take pictures, that's all. I really do not care about everything else.

glad for agreement but yeah i agree, it's just pics, it's just slightly bothering me that everyone is tossing these arounds like they where gold worth so i'm just pointing out that it's overated. i mean, there are beautiful men as well, that could either be underated or that women are overated so give it a rest already i say

I love the way you can see the ribcage, and the angle at which you took this picture.
Anyone with just a little anatomical knowledge can attest that the pronounciation of the ribcage in this pose is indeed perfecty normal, and not an effect of an anorectic body.

i found the protruding rib cage to be a result of the pose and nothing to do with the weight of the model.

And i find this to be a well made beautiful picture, with good attention to lighting and detail.

Lol, I love how people are making a fuss over "she's too thin you're just propagating the idea that ribcages are sexy a half naked woman isn't art" and all that BS.

Frankly I think she's obviously not that skinny. Look at her thighs: Round and full. Look at her arms. Obviously they have some meat on them. She's laying in a way that she's stretching with her back arched, and in that position, yes, the shape of most healthy peoples ribcage will show.

And the picture is nice, anyway. The composition and use of focus and contrast, like her clothes/necklace and hair to her skin, or the cold colors in the foreground vs. the warm light in the background, is well enough implemented for it to be art. I think the picture is more about that and the female form by itself rather than trying to say "look at this beautiful, sexy woman." Her breasts aren't unrealistically large or shown obscenely and you can't see her face. It reads more as comfortable and homey to me than as a stiff, blatantly sexual pin-up.

In short I think it's a nice picture. The composition isn't perfect, no, but sometimes a quirk like that makes me like a picture more.

Sorry to all the people with chips on their shoulders, but seriously. Come on. It's not that big of a deal that she's in her underwear.

To be honest, I don't think showing a woman's half-naked body from a certain angle is 'art'. :/
I mean, I think it's cool and all how much effort you put into it and the lighting is good, but...
it just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

It's more like a pin-up. I just don't like how people portray skinny, perfect-skin, big breasted women as 'beautiful' or 'perfect for photography'. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Let's not forget that if this girl was ranging anywhere from morbidly obese to dangerously thin, people would give the artist hell about this shot anyway. I don't know if the artist intentionally chose this model specifically for her body type, but I'm sure that if she were any other size bigger than she already is, people would then complain about not wanting to see a "fat chick." The lines are always blurred when it comes to weight and it's (unfortunate) association to art.

That's BS. I accept everyones opinion and would never argue with someone who does neither like my work nor think it is art or that this specific piece deserves a DD. I didn't chose it - it has been selected. It is like a 3 years old shot, I would've prefered another one... but it was not my decision, I just got it.

Feel free to don't like my stuff. Freedom of speech applies here. Cheers, B.

Eh, I didn't really think that you would fuss at me, just a bunch of people who left comments saying how they loved it.
Sorry I sort of made you think I was judging you.

Alright, so you THINK that if you don't like it it's not art. That's still extremely closed-minded. There are plenty of things that I hate that I still consider art.

But, of course, that's just MY honest opinion.

What? No. I think you misinterpreted that.
As in, it's just my opinion, and that as other people see it as art, while I don't. It's just not art to me. I'm not saying it isn't art at all, I just wouldn't consider it art based on my own personal tastes.

Technically her statement proves it is art. Art is anything that pulls at the emotions...no matter how positive or negative they are.

Pin-up IS art.

This IS art.

Just because you don't happen to like it doesn't mean that it isn't art. It just means it's art that doesn't appeal to you personally.

Take it easy guys. I never called myself an artist. I am just a guy with a camera who likes to take (or tries to take) good pictures of beautiful people... that's all. ;)

Thanks for the discussion anyway. It's pretty interesting! :)

Enjoy your weekend, Best regards, B.

Cut the crap some people are giving you. This is a nice picture :) It's a simple and beautiful-to-look-at photo. I really like her (outfit, I guess you could almost say) and how she's arching her back. Perhaps it could have a bit more of a focus point, but it's still a really nice photo. :D

Try not to listen to the people giving you crap over showing her breasts. This is one of the more tasteful girl photo DD that I've seen in a quite some time. There is an issue with the focus here, I feel like it should have been farther in the depth of the image, like on her breasts or her legs. As this is the, the focus of your image is too close and far to one side. (This is also all in my opinion)

If the woman with a small waist arches her back, like here what I beleive is happening here, this position will typically accentuate her ribcage.
