The sound of lightening shuddered through her. She opened her eyes and saw the dark cloudy sky above her; she knew that it had rained, for the smell of damp ground was still clinging to the air. She felt so weak, yet she managed to sit up. She seemed to be on a river bank, for the river was running right beside her; there was a path nearby that seemed to go on forever with no clear scene beyond it, or beyond anywhere nearby.
She tried to remember how she got to be here, but every time she tried a current of pain rushed through her head, remembering anything seemed to be impossible.
She thought she heard.
A jolt ran through her spine, forcing her to stand. She limped her way towards the river in an attempt to cleanse her face. As she came closer to the water she noticed that it had a golden shimmer to it, like millions of stars swimming in the water. She scooped some water in her palm and placed it upon the face.
She almost forgot about it.
