If there are any photographers in the Arizona or California area that are looking to build up a portfolio, who want to learn new photography skills, hone skills they already have, or want help promoting their work -- then this post applies to you!
Bat Country Cosplay is looking for photographers to keep with private photoshoots and photoshoots around and during conventions. Since we do a lot of large groups, it's hard to find time walking around conventions and meeting people when we have a tight schedule to adhere to. It would be beneficial to the group to to have more photographers on staff, to make the shoots go faster. Every artist has their own creative vision, so seeing what you can do behind the camera will set your works apart from the crowd! There are no limitations in art, so grab a camera and start shooting your passions.
If you want a chance in the spotlight to show off your skills and think you can help us out, then join Bat Country Cosplay at the following conventions for the years 2012 and 2013.Saboten Con 2012
in Glendale, Arizona from September 1st - 3rd @ The Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa.Yaoi-Con 2012
in Long Beach, California from October 12 -14 @ The Westin Long Beach.Anime Los Angeles 2013
in Los Angeles, California from January 4th - 6th @ The Los Angeles Airport Marriott.Fanime 2013
in San Jose, California. The dates and hotel are TBA.
That is the convention block for the upcoming year! We will be taking a break from after Fanime until the spring of 2014 to work on side projects and further our educations. There is a high probability we will be restricting ourselves to the Arizona area for that nine month block, with perhaps one or two small photoshoots in California. Further information on those future projects will be announced as details are worked out.
For those that live in Arizona, we are stationed in the Tempe area. We are willing to travel to the areas of Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Tucson, Payson and Flagstaff should the location call for it! If you have any ideas for completed costumes we've done, we are taking suggestions!
If you have a camera but no background in photography, that is okay! We are willing to help train you behind the camera to learn the basics and sculpt your own creative eye.
If you don't have a camera, but still want to contribute in some way possible, we can train you with our backup camera.
If you don't want to be a photographer, but still want to be helpful to our team, we are also looking for local roadies! Anything from helping set up the tripod, holding up umbrellas when in the sun, unpacking and repacking our equipment, carrying our equipment to the photoshoot location, lint rolling costumes, ironing costumes, polishing shoes, helping us in and out of costumes, helping do make up touch ups, holding up the reflectors or external light sources, carrying the camera equipment, helping load and unload the cars, providing towels and water bottles behind-the-scenes, giving pose suggestions or location suggestions from researched canons for the series being photoshooted and much, much more!

Thank you for your time, your continued support and we hope to see some of you in the near future.
