Description
One of the other things I love most besides action figures is Ghostbusters, ad I used to have a ton of the old Kenner toys as a kid. Currently Mattel has the rights to the toyline and while they've focused most of their energies on giving fans movie-accurate figures, the cartoon has been left in the dust with only minimates and these faux-Mego "Retro-Action" figures devoted to the Real Ghostbusters.
Interestingly, I didn't grow up on the Mego toys so I didn't have much fond memories for that style. However, playing with these for a little bit has rekindled a love for the Kenner line, and with a Samhain figure (the only time Sam was rleased in toy form was in an inaccurate form for the Extreme Ghostbusters line from Trendmasters) there's fun to be had with mixing and matching. I still enjoyed these Retro Action figures and I get a sense of how the older fans enjoyed these same toys back in the day.
