My father had asked me for months, now, to paint his finches. As you can see, the sun ate up the colors (unfortunately happens with many of our favorite things that are left on a window sill, or near a window). There are three total: 2 male Yellow Finches and 1 female Yellow Finch (or possibly a Green something... blah, blah, blah??). Anyways, initially my father wanted them all painted as per their original selves, however, he then later decided perhaps one could be a Yellow Finch and the other two could be European, or have one of them to be European, and two Yellow. European, because, my father was born in Portugal and growing up, remembers seeing these around. When I researched Finches, I found many GORGEOUS ones. So, he said I could do a third however I wished. He, "didn't care." Well, the first two became a Yellow Finch and a European... the third... I decided. Note: All birds were finished with a Krylon Matte UV Protectant Clear Coat. I'm hoping this will deter fading from the sun.
