The Very Round Fairy 'Ornament'
The old wizard took a step back to admire his handiwork. He was quite satisfied with the Christmas tree he had set up. Although he was a man who wielded mastery in the great arcane arts, it was next to impossible for him to not become filled with some equivalent of the 'holiday spirit' as the days toward the fated Christmas morning drew ever nearer. He didn't know why he did it, but it felt like it was the right thing to do. He was about ready to turn and leave...but then he noticed something that had managed to escape his attention until this very second. One of the branches of his tree was barren. He had been lacking in one more ornament needed to complete the entire display. If he left the tree as it was right now, the wizard would never be able to forgive himself. A desire for proper accomplishment (and a hint of OCD) made him feel like he could not rest until he had gotten an ornament for that final branch.
