Interesting tidbit about this that my wife found while falling down an instagram/reddit rabbit hole - the reason it was thought vampires could not see their shadow was most mirrors made in the way-back-when-times were backed with silver. At some point, which could be anywhere from the mid-19th century to the early 20th (I'm not clear on this) mirror started using aluminum instead. Somewhere around this time vampires got either a nasty shock, or experienced a moment of existential poignancy.
B.S. can get halfway around the world, while the truth is still putting on its boots.
Wow. The luster of this, the lighting, someone has had a new artistic breakthrough.
