Sorry I wrote that waaay too late (around 3am) so I was a bit spazzy hahah. I read somewhere on a blog about his retirement and I don't think I read it thoroughly enough and jumped to conclusions on that one XD
Miyazaki definitely deserves a break, he's done a fastastic job. I thought his son was going to take over after him, but it sounds like he's not too sure about following up his father. So when I heard Disney bought the rights and that they were going to release 'The Wind Rises', I admit I was bummed, especially since they already bought the rights to some other childhood favorites (ahem star wars). Oh well, thats the way the film and media industry goes I guess.
Hahah and no problem! My dad was in the airforce and we moved around a lot. We lived in Tokyo when I was really young, a few years after Totoro came out. I remember whole stores dedicated to the movie, and my brother was born when 'Spirited Away' came out, I guess you can say that's how I've gotten hooked haha. Ghibli films are so amazing, I could never get tired of them
