Yellow Flower

This stood out so much for me when I was browsing the gallery looking for yellow flower paintings and drawings. The angle is really good, and I love the detail you've put into making the petals realistic, with good shading and highlights. I like the fact that whilst there are individual veins painted into each petal, the petals are also well defined and distinguishable from one another. The stem is also good in terms of detail, although I am confused as to where your light source is coming from in this image. The light on the underside of the stem suggests it's coming from below, but there should in this case be a greater shadow on the top petals where the stem blocks the light...
I also think you could have made the stem attach to the main center of the flower a little more naturally as it looks somewhat stuck on.

This is a lovely painting though and I love the bright colours and perspective (:
