So, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I had a small appearance on a BBC programme talking about the Sheffield cutlery industry. Mercifully, the awkward interview portion was cut, but I thought I'd include the few appearances there were, mainly cause people were interested.
Starting at the bandsaw. A bandsaw that we never use. Ever. That's right, I'm pretending to use a bandsaw!
I can even go one step further and reveal it wasn't even switched on in this shot. TV companies always complain the factory is too loud, especially the extractors, despite being able to have a conversation at a normal voice level when stood right next to them. Unfortunately, with the amount of polishing/grinding compound and shrapnel being kicked up into the air we can't work without the extractors, so almost all the shots you see in the factory were filmed in an eerie silence, with the sound of the machines dubbed in in post! TV magic!
