Concept design art for a commission that I started last year and recently finished. I was approached by a client to assist them with some concept design for a world they are developing. For this assignment I was asked to help with finalizing of a race called the Gɣatchyn or as they are often referred to as Gryphons. This is one of the sketches I did for the project.

Some of you may be wondering what all those various straight lines are on the drawing. They are quick perspective lines that I drew to help me keep things going in the right direction. Often I will not use such an extensive system of lines and instead will just keep the stuff stored in my head, but I was assisting another artist with a similar problem so I drew them out more thoroughly so they could see what I was talking about. It seemed to help and I figured if the information helped one artist then perhaps others might find it useful to.

I hope you like what you see. Please help make more art like this possible by supporting me at Patreon Patreon Icon

Are they humanized gryphons, or is it a name for a race of winged people?
