Okay. This is my first submission for the Incomprehensible Distances Pack on Space-Artists.
Took a long time to get going. The big asteroid was created in terragen. the other asteroids where rendered in 3dsmax, which was hell of a challenge to me,
because i alsmost never used that program before. So after reading some tutorials on how the program works i came up with what you see in the picture.
I know they are not perfect but it's as close as i could get.

Allright. Thats about it.

If you want more go to and take a look at the whole Pack.
And if you see something you like, then go out there and give the artist love man.

comments + :+fav:'s are allways appreciated.

I get a real night feeling from this with the way the light illuminates on the rocks. Your asteroids are so real, not to mention everything else. I really find the distance to be unfathomable; there's so much depth to this! Thanks for sharing, Baro.

This is worth a Ridley Scott movie ! I hope we will have such sights in the next Prometheus movie !!
You did a great use of darkness and slight light reflections.

thx :). well i guess you don't use the prog that often either then... i think the pro's will have no difficulty in noticing that i'm new to it. then again i am happy that they turned out so well, which i hadn't expected to begin with. anyway thx for the fav and the comment. it's appreciated :D

OK, I have to glue away my eyes from the image so I can write this. The asteroids are bloody magnificient! Absolutely realistic, which in addition to their textures is achieved by excellent use of lighting. The red lava glow on the planet and that faint bluish nebula complete the overall effect. Magnificient work!
