Tip for Painting Gold Shine (Digital)
I made a... not really a tutorial, more like a "tips" thing... for how I did the shine on the golden figures here (the 3D ones  ) , if anyone's interested. This just explains how to enhance the shine; it doesn't go in depth on color theory and where to put reflections - that's beyond the scope of this mini tut. Medium: Digital STEP 1: Layer mode: Normal Paint object, minding reflections. If you have shiny objects next to each other, like here, remember that they reflect off each other as well as the objects around them. The more polished the metal, the greater the contrast in values. STEP 2: New transparent layer Layer mode: Overlay (Image above is on white and normal mode, so you can see where I painted what.) Apply your lightest color on the highlights. Apply the darkest color on shadows and next to highlights. Use a middle color for areas where other gold parts are reflected. END RESULT NOTES: 💛Shiny metals have high contrast in values; that's why the darkest

These are some nice tips here!
I'd like to add that if you don't have access to two even light sources, you can also use the natural light of a cloudy day for your works. It provides a nice, even lighting.
And Google photos does a nice job of allowing you to play with the coloring of your piece, with the white, highlight, black, and shadow features. It preserved more of my pen strokes than other programs do~
