<sub>A florist is, by definition, a retailer and/or grower of flowers. Hanako is a textbook example of a florist. She became well-known after creating a website with which she advertised the floral shop she worked at. She worked in the shop alongside her father, ████████, creating floral arrangements and shipping them out. While this work isn’t anything special on its own, Hanako’s kind demeanor and generally kind attitude caused the return rate of consumers to the store to multiply several times over.

Her most widely-known achievements have been her floral arrangements—wreaths, bouquets, etc.—crafted for celebrities and weddings. It’s common knowledge within the florist community that Hanako’s floral arrangements are second to none, and the waitlist for one of her creations can stretch as long as several months. Remarkably, though, despite the incredible amount of work this creates for her, Hanako has faced all of the attention she has received with a smile. She has gone on record to say: “I suppose I’m just a hard worker? My father motivates me a lot, so that may have helped me along the way, too!”

Hanako’s invitation to attend Hope’s Peak Institution drew even more attention to her. It goes without saying that she accepted the invitation. According to reports, she is highly anticipating her attendance.</sub>

       “Uaahhhh.... Oh! I know this!”

As a florist, Hanako has extensive knowledge on plants and flowers alike! Because of her morbid interest, she came to become interested in the more harmful types of flora that could possibly be lethal! This would include poisons from plants- for example, if a murder has occurred and the body had been poisoned, Hanako would be able to tell what type of plant was used for the murder with enough investigation of course!

However, Hanako doesn’t have the most wonderful memory, nor the worst- it’s purely average! So remembering what symptoms go to what poison plant would take a little more time! There are a few she can remember clearly that took her interest while reading about them and/or studied further.

           [ Shut Down ]

      “Give me a moment.”

In the heat of a trial, Hanako may ‘shut down’, in the sense that she will stop talking completely until she has calmed down. This happens when she gets too irritated, not wishing to break her persona with one wrong slip of the tongue. Hanako is not a risk-taker after all! Allowing her mouth to slip would be a risk contributing to her downfall after all. Depending on the level of irritation or pressure put on her the time it takes for her to compose herself varies from two minutes or more.

If more pressure is put on her during this time, there's a possibly that she snaps!

It’s hard to tell if it’s made from real gold or just painted from the naked eye. Possibly Hanako’s most treasured possession. Passed down from her late mother, either side of the locket contains an image of her mother and … odd, the other side is empty.

   Hanako is in almost perfect health! She isn’t the type to get sick easily with her immune system- in fact the chances of her catching a cold are slightly less than average! However if such an illness overtakes her it would take slightly longer than the average person to get over it.

In short, Hanako is very weak! There was no need to practice her own strength while she was working other than light gardening, thus she displays great difficulty whilst handling heavy objects that would not seem too hard to handle!

Working in a busy shop must mean that Hanako has to be very quick with both her hands and legs! She tends to move quickly with most things, and can carry out tasks relating to hands rather quickly without much fail or difficulty! However, she is no track star nor perfect with her hands- so don’t expect perfect results every time!

As for her intelligence, there isn’t anything exceptional here! She is entirely average in her studies and common sense. However, she tends to skip out on her studies frequently, so she may be lacking in some aspects of knowledge. Hanako is seemingly decent with puzzles however!

Hanako has little experience in defending herself, not to say she is entirely clueless either! She knows to struggle if grabbed or to kick a certain area but that is about it- paired with her adrenaline she may just be lucky to defend herself with a 100% success rate!

On the surface, Hanako is about as ordinary as you could get. Her kind, caring demeanor leaves many in awe. Hanako is the type of person to wave at every passerby, no matter who they may be; though, despite all this, she remains humble. Isn’t that what every person should do, remain humble? Yes, of course!

More often than not, the florist’s gentleness shines through in her interactions with others rather than her individual actions. Hanako loves people, and she isn’t afraid to show it through affectionate gestures, kind words, and emotional support, though even she does become tired of constant social interaction after a while. Any friend of hers is one that she will be loyal to to the very end, no matter the circumstances; that’s what it means to be a good friend! And making friends isn’t particularly difficult for her, as her nature draws people in, like flies to honey. Her open-mindedness also helps in connecting with others, as she is not one to judge on most anything, from appearances to personality to a person’s history.

Perhaps as a result of her loyalty, Hanako is a highly sentimental person. She cherishes memories, items, most everything with the utmost adoration; the thought of throwing away a precious reminder of someone or something is unfathomable to her! In contrast to her sentimentality, though, Hanako is surprisingly secretive. She dislikes revealing things about herself and, if asked to do so, will likely turn the conversation topic to whoever it is she’s speaking to. This has largely contributed to her enigmaticness; nobody knows much about Hanako, at least outside the realm of speculation! Her life, aspirations, and motivations are a complete mystery to nearly everyone that knows her, and she’d prefer it to stay that way.

On the topic of secrets, how does Hanako keep all of hers under wraps? The answer is simple: she’s not a risk-taker. If there’s a chance that she’ll lose something, she won’t take that chance, even if the reward outweighs the risk. The only exception to this rule would be if the odds laid heavily in her favor and there was a great reward to be sought, but other than those outstanding odds, there’s no way that Hanako would even think of making a bet and potentially losing something. In spite of this, she is surprisingly competitive, though, admittedly, in a different regard. She wishes to be the best that there is, and will not allow anyone or anything else to stand in her way, even if that anyone happens to be a friend of hers. She has aims, just as everyone else does, and she’ll be damned if she is unable to reach those goals because of somebody else acting as a roadblock. Hanako will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

And sometimes, what she wants is… not good for the people around her. Underneath of her kind exterior lies an entirely different person: the real Hanako. It’s rare that this side of her will come out around people, but the florist is extremely careful to keep up the character that she’s so delicately crafted, for her own sake. Obviously, this makes her more than a little bit two-faced, putting on an act for everyone while truly feeling, seeing, and processing things far differently than her irritatingly cheerful counterpart. It’s not as though she’ll readily reveal this side of her, either; it took her a long time to craft a role to play, so giving it up so easily would be giving up a crucial part of herself.

There’s no way to put it lightly: Hanako is, at heart, a person that runs on spite. In her eyes, too many people have wronged her, and forgiveness is not the correct way to make those people regret their actions. She holds grudges like no other, and anyone that starts off on the wrong foot with her will have quite a difficult time backtracking. And it’s overwhelmingly easy to give her a bad impression of yourself. While the happier, cheerful personality of hers is open-minded and tolerant, her true nature is not nearly as so. Being judged is par for the course when trying to create a friendship with Hanako; it’s just a matter of diverting as much as that judgement as you can.

If you manage to maintain a friendship with Hanako, you may find it difficult to establish other friendships, though, and that’s not on accident. The florist is unbearably possessive, unwilling to let go of people she has taken a liking to in a similar fashion to a child, unwilling to let go of their favorite toy. Hanako fully expects that people will try to “betray” her like this; a huge red flag pointing to her cynicism. Faith? Hanako doesn’t hold any faith in other people; all of them will end up turning against her at some point or another. Hate her, even. Which is one reason why she puts up her persona; to keep those people around!

People are like flowers. They need careful nourishment to grow and blossom. Unlike flowers, though, people don’t need to be watered, but instead fed lies.

✔ Flowers; plants; nature; Of course, as a florist her greatest interest would be flora and nature! Hanako has a great soft spot for greenery.

✔ Rap music; Surprising, is it not? Hanako enjoys rap music, and may often mumble along to lyrics if played. However, she doesn’t listen to one artist in particular, often switching between different artists!

✔ Calm days; Nothing like a peaceful day, filled with chill conversations and overall relaxation! Hanako loves these days most.

✔ Strong scents; Although they sometime hurt her nose, it’s better to be able to put your finger on the smell rather than getting just a hint of it!

✘ People being better than her; Hanako is pretty jealous of those who display more skill or likability than her! May be passive-agressive!

✘ Reckless people; Far more likely to put her in danger if not only themselves. Hanako may not express her dislike of these people.

✘ Rain; Hanako has never been a fan of the rain. It tends to be too gloomy for her tastes when it rains, much more prefers the sunshine.

Little is known about Hanako’s personal life, other than the face she lives with her father, Yu, and his girlfriend,  in the humble family florist shop. Hanako refuses to answer questions pertaining to her family, rather avoiding the question or turning it back towards occupation based talk.

It is no secret, however, that she took the florist business by storm- giving people much more interest in floristry than they would have previously done! Her father owes the success to her, displaying the humbling aura of the entire family! However, there is not much talk about the personal lives of the family outside the usual, “We all treasure each other very much!”
