SHINOHATA TWO YEARS PRIOR
Nazukami was having dream that was both one of his favorites and one of his hardest. It wasnt a dream per-say so much as a memory. It was the memory of when his parents would watch the stars with him. It was one of his happiest memories and one that he treasured above all else.
"Awaken Nazukami." He heard as he was dreaming. Upon waking he he quickly took in his surroundings. At first he wasn't able to understand where he was, before he realizes that he was underneath a huge tree that had a cave like structure at the bottom of it. He also noted that since there was only one entrance it was insulated and was relatively warm. "Welcome back to the world of the living Nazukami." he heard Byakko say from behind him. turning to look at him he noticed that he was in his in his tiger form and was laying on the ground."It is good to see you again Byakko." Answered Nazukami. "So how long have i been asleep?" asked Nazukami. "You have been asleep for two years. Come lets walk. Its a cool night and it will help you get used to your new body." Answered Byakko standing up and walking to the entrance of the tree. As Nazukami stood up he became aware of the changes to his body. His hearing was better, his sight sharper, and his sense of smell was more acute. Looking down he saw that his clothes had changed. His light blue dogi had been replaced with a White one with black stripes along the sides, with its sleeves torn off just under the shoulder. It took him a minute to get used to his new body as he stood. Without fulling knowing how he knew that Byakko had kept his promise, his mind and body had been modified to be able to fight better than any human and what was most important to him was the knowledge on how to transform into a white tiger like his parents. As he left the tree he noticed that there were other tigers laying about in the grass beside the trees. As Nazukami and Byakko exited the tree the tigers all stood and bowed their heads in respect. "Now Nazukami i want you to test your abilities starting with your martial arts and ending with giving these tigers an order. This is so you can see the full extent of your abilities." Said Byakko as they reached a small clearing a few yards from the Home tree. "OK, lets see what i can do." thought Nazukami to himself. As Nazukami began practicing his forms and movements, he didn't notice how all the sound in the clearing had stopped. While he was practicing the other tigers were watching with glee as Byakko's chosen surpass their expectations. Upon completing his kata he decided to draw and practice with his sword "White Claw" which had been given to him by Byakko, it was made out of Byakko's own claw and was indestructible and had the ability to fuse with its wielder. This helped to insure that it could not be stolen by men like Grimjow who would use its power for their own gain. To those who watched it would look like a sword had simply appeared in his hand which also gave him the element of surprise. As he practiced with his sword many of the tigers watched and his sword glowed in the moon light as it swung through the air. It was beautiful as well as deadly something the tigers respected above all else. As he finished one of the tiger Bow and quiver full of arrows hanging from its mouth walked up to Nazukami and placed them at his feet. "These were made by one of the local demon tiger clans native to this forest. It was crafted from the branches of the oldest tree at the center of their village. It serves as their vow to you, So long as you have this bow they will obey you as their rightful ruler. Their are other things that will show up from the other clans as news travels of your position. But be warned their are some humans who have deluded them selves into believing that only their decedents have the right to have the position i have bestowed on you. Some may try to kill you to prove that they are better suited than you." warned Byakko as Nazukami picked up the bow and quiver. "Is their any particular way you want me to handle them?" asked Nazukami as he notched his arrow. "You can do as you see fit. You have that right as my avatar." responded Byakko as Nazukami released the arrow hitting a makeshift target attached to a tree dead center. Just as Nazukami started to notch a second arrow the sound of screams and swords clashing is heard. without even thinking about it Nazukami finds himself moving through the forest. "Everyone i want you to find out whats going on. Don't engage until i have given the order." Nazukami started giving out orders even as he moved, knowing they would obey. As he moved through the forest at a speed normal humans could never match he discovered another ability he had. Just as he could communicate with his tigers, so too could he see and hear what they could. Through them he could see the caravan than was being attacked by bandits. Most of the few guards who were escorting the caravan were dead, and the few who remained were heavily outnumbered. He knew they wouldn't last long. This thought spurred him to move faster. Even as he reached near blinding speeds he knew he wouldn't be in time, and he couldn't risk allowing the tigers to attack since they would be attacked by the guards and bandits both. "Damn it, i need to hurry!" thought Nazukami as he ran.
Jasmine was a young girl of about 13. She was very pretty for her age with "Hey mister what is that?" Asked Jasmine pointing to a small shrine next to the road. Jasmine was a girl of about 14 years of age. She had brown hair that was about shoulder length and Yellowish green eyes. she was wearing a purple dress and brown leather shoes. "Its a shrine dedicated to the two powerful demons who rule this forest." answered the guard who was riding next to her cart. "Demons? aren't they supposed to be evil?" asked the little girl perplexed. "Hahaha, no not all demons are evil. most just want to be left alone. Their are even some who help humans when needed." explained the guard. Just as Jasmine was going to ask which the demons of this forest were the was a loud crash in front of the caravan. running to the front of the cart Jasmine could see that it was a tree that had fallen on the road that caused the noise. just as the head guard began giving orders to move the tree they were ambushed by bandits. The head guard quickly tried to regroup his men but was killed by an arrow as he was shouting orders. "Lets go men! Their defenselessness without their commander!" Yelled one bandit with glee as he charged out of the cover of the trees. Many fallowed him, gaining courage upon watching him charge. Jasmine was watched as both men and woman alike were killed by the bandits. the remaining guards began forming a defensive circle around her wagon in an attempt to protect the few people still alive. Jasmine watched as the guards did their best to protect them from the bandits only to be slowly pushed back until their backs where against the carriage. Just as things looked like they were all going to die they heard screaming coming from the bandits who where in the back of the group. Everyone, (Bandit and guard alike) turned to see what had caused the screaming. They all watched in both awe and horror as tigers of all kinds descended on the men. The bandits tried to defend them selves but anytime they had a chance to attack one of the tigers either another would kill the man who tried or they would fall back out of reach. The guards realized this was their chance and began to attack the bandits who had turned around to try and deal with this new threat. The bandits were unable to deal with the attack from both sides and began to flee into the forest. Only a few would live to tell the tale of what happened that night. As the guards fought the bandits a few decided to use this chance to kill Jasmine's father and take her to sell later.
As Nazukami finally arrived at the Convoy he saw that the tigers and remaining guards and civilians who had armed themselves were having a standoff, neither sure of what the other would do. As nazukami was about to give the order for the tigers to leave he noticed one young guard begin to take aim at one of the tigers and before he could warn him not to fire the guards fingers slipped, loosing the arrow strait at the tiger. Nazukami knew if that bolt hit the tiger the others would attack. Acting on instinct he dashed in front of the arrow and caught it just before it hit the tiger. Seeing the arrow their leader had caught the tigers began to growl and roar in anger. "Quite!" shouted Nazukami to the tigers. Nazukami dropped the arrow and walked up to the group of people. "Who's in charge here? asked Nazukami. He noticed a lot of people seemed unsure until a older guard stepped forward. He was about 6'2 and well muscled. He had hair that was gray and had a scare that ran the length of the right side of his face. "My name is sergeant Anders, second in command of the guards stationed to escort this caravan. My superior was killed at the beginning of the ambush and as such im now in command. Who am i speaking with?"He said in a gravely voice. "I am Nazukami, leader of the tiger tribes and guardian of this forest." Answered Nazukami. "First let me start by thanking you for your assistance in helping us fight off those bandits. We lost a few people, but we would have lost all of them had your tigers not showed up when they did. I know its shameless of me but can i ask for your aid in guarding these people till we reach town?" asked Anders. Nazukami stopped to think about his options. He knew that Grimjows gang had one of their HQ's in Shinohata. This might be a good time to get info on them if he was careful. "Very well, but i have a condition. You and your people must tell no one who i am. You can tell them that the tigers saved you but not who i am. Understood? " Answered Nazukami. "Thats fine, besides its not like people would believe us about this anyway." Responed Sergeant Anders. "Sir! One of the kids is missing!" Hollered a man from one of the wagons further down. "Who is it?" responded Anders after the man had run up to them. "Its jasmine sir. The one you were talking on the way here. We found her fathers body in their wagon but she's nowhere to be found. We can only assume some of the bandits who got away have her." reported the man. "Damn it!" Cursed Anders.
