Description
Maschinen Krieger 1/20 AFS C.D. Type Polar Bear
With all of the Gundam uploading I do, it's easy to forget that I'm also a Maschinen Krieger builder from the beginning (when it was called SF3D).
This is a newer kit that I've been working on here and there for the past year or so. I actually finished the suit months ago, but all of the local hobby shops were out of Woodland Scenics snow at the time. So without being able to finish the base, it went on hold and I worked on other stuff.
Then a couple weeks ago I checked the hobby shop and they had snow in stock, so here it is!
Starting with this build and all my future Ma.K. builds, the seals for the joints have been built up out of Creative Paperclay. I think it looks much better and realistic like this. True, you have to pick a pose, but it's not like I'm gonna be playing with this on the couch. So, pick a pose and stick with it! lol
The paint chipping effect was done with the hairspray method (Google it if you haven't heard of it) and all washes are done with oils. Tamiya Weathering Powder snow was used to fog up the glass in the helmet.
I'm on a winter/ snow kick with everything and you'll be seeing that reflected in more of my future builds.
