Haha, I didn't realize this was animated at first. It took me off guard because I thought my laptop was just loading the page weirdly. Thank you for that! :D

All of that aside, I really do like this piece. Despite the surface of the water, the whole thing is just so calm and peaceful. I feel like I'm going on an adventure with the whale, without ever having to leave - which suits me just fine. The sudden appearing glow on the whale gives afterward adds a whole new layer that I really appreciate. Instead of a regular whale swimming in the ocean, it's a magical whale that creates a sort of mysterious, mystical air that makes me wonder about how it came to be and its story in general.

The commissioner described this creature to me as a 'Guardian Spirit'.  From them, I quote: "One of the oldest spirits, originally guardian of creatures like plesiosaurs, now guardian of whales, whale sharks, and giant squid." So cool. :D
