Textured Copic Marker Brush by bananapanik Textured Copic Marker Brush by bananapanik
So, I've been trying to make a copic marker brush for a really long time...and I finally got something close.

Sorry for the sucky preview (it makes it look more like water color than marker) but please try it out and let me know what you think :)

NOTE: THIS IS OLD AND HAS ISSUES WITH SEAMS; USE V2 OR V3!!!

Just letting you know that it works wonderfully in CS5 with the new mixer brush. Very close to the effects you get with Copics and Touch markers.

really? Awesome :) Sometime I hope I have the chance to try CS5 out...I'm still working with CS3 at the moment...

Take your time - CS6 will be out before we know it and I'll be kicking myself. (Photoshop CS5 is even more of a memory glutton -- meaning upgrades -- and I suspect that the next iteration will be a bit more streamlined, if the gossip coming out of Adobe is anything to go by.)

Yeah, I run a laptop, so CS3 is about as high I can go without it lagging.

Thanks for using it ^_^

If you get a chance, try out version 2 or version 3 as well. They are much better, IMO, than the first version!

Curious, V3 and V2 can achieve the same effect since I downloaded only V3.
Anywho, thanks a lot for making these. :D I don't have to bug my mom for Copics this Christmas. ^^;

V2 and V3 have a couple minor differences, mostly in texture, seamless-ness and noise level. Both are useful; I use both ^_^ V1 is the only one I don't really use anymore.

Ah, thanks for the info.!
I'll be sure to get V2 now! :3

Oops, one more question, for the V1, I noticed that it looks more of the Copics brush tip side whereas the rest are like the marker tip. Can V2 and 3 be used a brush tip?
My bad if I'm repeating something that someone asked or you wrote, I haven't used them yet. ^^;

Honestly, I'm not sure ^_^; I would just suggest going in and playing with the brush shape and roundness controls and see what you get.

I've actually never used real copics before...ehe. But, as far as blending goes, the brush is set-up with pen pressure on the opacity. If you don't have a tablet, that could be a problem, though.

Thanks for sharing :) I like to touch up my marker works in Photoshop so I've made about 30 brushes that are close but not quite there. Looking forward to trying this out, and maybe mixing it up with mine :)

You can just go to your preset manager (under file, towards the bottom), and click "load", and then select the brush. Should be the last one in your list now, and when using the brush tool you can select and use it. :)

It was a bit hard to control at first but I loved the complex, handdrawn feeling it gave. Good Job!
