i all! I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes from this project as I have already put a lot of work into it and have become quite attached. My friend, Iain, and I have decided to travel for a year together. We both have always wanted to but have never had the opportunity for various reasons, but we've decided that there is no time like the present! We have begun designing products to sell in order to fund our year-long adventure starting in England (where Iain lives), traveling all through Europe, sailing across the Mediterranean, and traveling southeast through India, China, Japan and finally New Zealand. One of our fund raising endeavors is to create a deck of playing cards to sell throughout our travels and via our online store. We imagine a deck that is both unique and stylized, featuring a variety of artists with a range of styles and a common theme of world travel and global community. GUIDELINES

1. Entry must have a theme of travel (think things like culture, language, people, places, etc.)
2. Multiple entries CAN be submitted and selected; NO DUPLICATES!
3. We are looking for cards that express individual style and ideas - creativity is a must!!
4. Entry may not submit any recognizable figure or image besides yourself (only completely original stuff here, no fandom, no copying)
5. Any and all mediums are accepted and encouraged! C:
6. All artwork must be linked to this journal
7. The number and symbol for diamonds and hearts must be red; for spades and clubs must be black
8. Entry design does not have to have number and symbol on it, nor does it have be 'card based art'
9. If a number and symbol are drawn on the card, it should be placed in the upper left and bottom right corners
10. More than one prize can be won if two or more designs are submitted or if chosen in raffle
11. You may submit an entry that is the same card as one that another entrant has submitted (ex. Queen of spades)
12. Entrant does not have to be a Deviant Art member to enter
13. All entries must be submitted by
JANUARY 3 at 11:59 PM EST (USA) (extended from September 3, due to lack of entries)

14. If submission does not comply with all guidelines, entry may be discarded from the contest

By entering this competition, you are allowing your art to be used for our product. Once chosen entries may be modified before publishing to unify the deck.

IMAGE FILE TIPS:
Image should be a minimum size of 2.5" x 3.5" (750 x 1050 pixels)
RGB or CYMK for color; Greyscale for black and white
Only JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and EPS accepted
Minimum of 300dpi resolution
Allow for approx. 1/8" (36pixels based on 300dpi) for bleeding

RAFFLE GIVEAWAY

Anyone who promotes this contest in their journal will be listed in a raffle (even contest entrants). Entrants will be listed in numerical order and will be chosen at random.
