A diary is ones way of preserving past events, so as to recount them later, or as to leave an unyielding legacy to the world in order to be kept in living memory. To leave one’s mind in the world when the clock chimes 12...

The gears of time are unceasing… Flesh and blood inevitably become bone and dust and the cycle goes on and on… Until all that is left is a pile of bones…and even they will suffer from time’s unrelenting hand, a hand that spares nothing and no one.

For when all the dust and chaos has settled upon the barren globe and the sun has transcended beyond its final horizon, there may not be a man to tell the story of how life had…. Had….

…Never seemed to glow with so much life, yet appear so dark at the same time… *

Now its time I leave my mark, just in case of the worst…

<Date has been scribbled out furiously, writing is almost illegible>

I confide on paper my feelings… so that at least a part of me will remain when I am gone…

Years have passed and I’ve moved on from then... well, that was the impression I had in my mind before I found myself writing this… again… it is clear now that I have fooled myself quite well to actually believe that I could escape it… A fool to think I could just… let it go so easily.

The events of that month still trouble me… not because of what happened then… (no, details hardly matter nowadays)… but because of what is happening to me now. Details of that time… of times before… are becoming less clear, sketchy, lost. The real threat has only recently emerged… but I’ve always felt it there… lingering in the back of my mind… smiling…

But it hasn’t all been bad… no… I’ve been doing… quite well. It’s been raining a lot recently… (we had a bit of sun before)… The ceiling in my room was leaking, kept me up last night. Water kept dripping onto the wooden floor next to my bed… systemically, like machine… drip… drip… drip… as if possessed. I fixed it though; I can’t spare the extra expense… I never can…

Even without the support of a family… friends. . .

It didn’t help that there was a power cut as well… What am I saying, I’ve gone way off the point I was trying to make.

I’m expecting the call from… what’s his name? …soon… Regardless, I’ll be long gone from here quite soon. I need to sort out that cough I’ve been having recently… damn weather… It’s starting to get really irritating…

This will be the last entry for a while; I grow weary of this writing. I’ve got better things to be doing anyway.

I actually found the time to do some writing and a little picture. ^^; Its my 100th deviation. :D

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, or if its odd, the purpose of this bit of writing was to try to help me overcome my writer's block. It essentially provides further development for the protagonist of the story i've been writing for over a year, establishing his changing personality etc.

Hopefully i can get round to writing more on my main series soon. Please comment about anything, and i'll be more than happy to reply.

James.

Nice one as usual, James. You certainly haven’t gotten rusty in your writing absence. :) Very deep, I must say; quite cryptic. It makes you think. I like that. Still, we’re all waiting on the next chapter to Tragic Hero, myself included. Poetry and short pieces like this are all well and good and I do enjoy them, but I’m really eager to read the next chapter, if you’d mind getting around to it. ^^; I can wait though, so no rush.

Thanks Sin for your comment, i'll try my best to get the series back up and running. Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the series so far? Any suggestions will be great, so i can overcome my writer's block ASAP. :)

Well, what is it you're having trouble with? Or are you just asking for my opinion?

My main problem is writer's block (coupled with school work etc). I would like your opinion though, it could help me get rid of my block, and it would be good to get some extra input.

Okay, well, do you have any ideas at current that you might want to bounce off me perhaps? Maybe if we pool our talents, we can come up with something.

Happy 100th Deviation! :w00t:

I really liked this Wiggs, especially the part:
"For when all the dust and chaos has settled upon the barren globe and the sun has transcended beyond its final horizon, there may not be a man to tell the story of how life had…. Had….

…Never seemed to glow with so much life, yet appear so dark at the same time…"
I just really liked that part :D

Great job! I will try to read chapter 4 of Walking in the Mist sometime soon (I have an open day on Saturday...)
