Sounds like fun. when I was workin Seismic Exploration in the winters up in Canada in the mid/late 80s it was all Geogel(Nitro Jelly)for down hole or Primacord on stakes for surface shots. Geogel was death on Beaver Dams and Primacord could cut a tree off at ground(Muskeg) level slick as a whistle, we had too much fun and got paid for it

Gawd... some folks have all the fun! I got to do some airstrips in Columbia... but that was all C-4 surface shots. Oh... the labs were a blast (pun) with 100's gallons of ether and ethanol. BOOM! Ahhhh... those were the days. You were in the Edmonton oil sands?

Some around Edmonton but most way way further North, Zamma Lake area in Alta and Ft Nelson in BC way up the Alaska Highway. Did one job out of a Skid Camp outside of Ft. Nelson where you could stand with your left foot in BC, your right foot in Alta and take a whiz into the Northwest Territories...and watch it freeze before it hit the Ground

Good times... I recall (with reluctance) winter warfare school at Ft. Richardson... Does that still exist? Went straight from there to Panama. Bone numbing cold... to 100+ with 100% humidity. Good times!
