I’m alone inside this motel room
That looks like the cremation of the remains
Of a feeling once so alive but now locked inside this tomb
I’m staring at an overfilled ashtray
Playing hop scotch down along an empty valley
That walks circles around me like a shadow of vultures
Waiting for a fresh kill to decay
Give hate a bouquet for the love I've felt
Act as a centerpiece of emotion under a flame and watch it melt
And maybe I shouldn't have knocked that devil straight down on his knees
As he was sitting on my shoulder trying to say to me
“This is no more than cloak and dagger, it’ll bring nothing but tears.”
I guess my only excuse really doesn't matter
‘Cause I was to busy lusting on that angel while
She was whispering sweet stuff in my ears.

Halls
I make out like it's down to the pain
But I'm just traumatised by my own brain
It shows me hallowed hallways
Ghosts jump out and then fade
I watch the play by play account
Of when it all amounted
To nothing but costing me everything
They're a handsome car crash
A fireworks show of stars flash
Before my eyes with the edges burned off
Maybe I deserve you to be turned off
By all these problems I manufacture
Is it me the whipper or the catcher
Either way these memories are fractured
A hash across my record captured
I can't be trusted to put it back to
How the room was before
The chambermaid I tend for
Sober hallucinations
It's over I can't change that
But I can change myself
To be whoever you need to help
You fly high
I sky write
Love poems
Watch you going
And I slide down the wall
In my esteemed haunted halls
Maybe they're the ones locked in
With me but knowing patterns doesn't stop it
