But apparently if you take too long you get a "session time out error" when you submit and dA will simply throw everything you've written away. I don't get how dA continuously manages to make their experience a little more terrible every single day. You'd think they'd pay people to improve stuff, not make it worse. Maybe it's because Wix bought it.
I was going to feature some people's work but I can't be bothered to find all the stuff again. I'll just stick with the icons of people I was going to feature stuff from:
Their galleries are all well worth browsing

Also on Instagram
While I'll still be on dA, I've also decided to finally add stuff to Instagram: @bbn_aviation • Instagram photos and videos
My photo is trending on someone else's TikTok
So, I've had my stuff stolen before. It happens, it's the internet. Nobody respects intellectual property and usually I just chuckle and move on. Usually it doesn't get much traffic anyway. And I don't ever use TikTok so I don't pay attention to what goes on there, always struck me as a cesspool anyway. But someone alerted me that someone took one of my recent F-22 photos, uploaded it on their TikTok, put some shitty music behind it, slapped on some text saying "Hey stop scrolling" and got 3,000+ likes and 1,600+ comments (and counting) on it. I'm not going to share a link to his account because he doesn't deserve more traffic. But this is the first time I've gotten pissed enough to file a Copyright claim against someone. Fuck this guy.
AI and the gradual loss of genuine art on dA
Let me start off by saying that I like all the AI stuff that's happening. GPT-4, Stable Diffusion, Dall-E... It's all cool stuff. And I enjoy messing with it myself as sure, you can do cool and useful stuff with it. But that being said, there's so much stuff being generated and shared here that so much of what I see now on dA is just... fake. I'd say about 40% of the stuff I see on here now is AI generated. Worse, while many artists do tag it clearly as AI, many do not. And many artists seem quite happy to sell "their" art when all they did was write a line of text which then got turned into an image for them. Are people actually buying this stuff in any significant amounts? I doubt it. But it seems like thousands of people all suddenly think they now have something worth charging money for. And again, some people will try to sell stuff without bothering to tell that their work is just AI generated. It's also resulted in people now feeling compelled to offer evidence that their work
Give the people what they want
While I try to not just upload pictures of plans all the time, I guess it's what people want hah. Looking at what gets traffic, it seems that an airplane will always do better than say, a hummingbird. Maybe it's just because that's what a lot of people watch me for. So good news: there will be more planes. After doing something else for a couple of years, I'm also back to working in aviation, though not in a flying position (though I have been doing a little flying by just renting planes in recent months). The Seattle area is good for aviation and with an airshow coming up soon on the other side of the mountains, I might get some more diverse shots from there as well. There's also a B-29 ("Doc") in town right now, so if the weather holds up that might be a worth getting some pictures from. I've also been keeping my eye on on the Eviation Alice being tested nearby and which is supposed to make its first flight soon. It's an all-electric short range regional airline with a pretty quirky
