Wow - 2020's been a year, hasn't it?
I normally have a book out in February or March that collects my previous Inktober efforts. I had every intention of doing the same thing this year, but... man, that didn't happen, did it?
October came and went this year, and I had some comics work that I was doing, so I couldn't fit in an Inktober effort this year; I usually devote quite a lot of time and effort to it, so I didn't want to compromise that. Since I wasn't able to clear the slate ahead of time, I decided to take an Inktober break for 2020, after 5 straight years.
I was finally able to find the time to complete the retrospective book project over Thanksgiving break - and JUST IN TIME for gift-giving season.
I've tried to pull out all the stops this year, clocking in at 88 pages of content, behind-the-scenes sketches and warm-ups, a few commissions, bonus art, notes on tools & techniques, and even a proper introduction by prominent Muppet journalist Joe Hennes.
PLAY THE MUSIC, LIGHT THE LIGHTS is now available for order through Amazon in the US, Canada, the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Due to the print-on-demand nature of the publication, readers in some countries are unable to order them. If yours is one of these countries, and you would like a copy - send me a note. I will have a small stock of extras that I can ship out myself, so don't hesitate to ask!
I'm already thinking about how I'm going to approach Inktober 2021; I really missed it this year, but I think a good reset will only make it better.
