FACT CHECKERS - THE CORPORATE LEASH ON LITERACY

[CENSORED] (one of the big 5 corporation)'s decision to fire fact checkers is bad for the modern media landscape. The fact they have done it during an era of polarisation is alarming and concerning to the modern media landscape when the division of media discourse is worse and thus we must fight corporations like [CENSORED] as they want to defend their monopoly and own interests. They frame it as giving the ordinary people a voice to fact-check posts though it could be used in ways like political interference and misinformation which is outright dangerous.
