Nendoroid Style Custom Gardevoir Figure by B2Squared Nendoroid Style Custom Gardevoir Figure by B2Squared
I'm kind of a sucker for quality gaming merchandise. When I learned of the Pokemon Trainer Red Nendoroid coming out this September, I instantly pre-ordered it. However, because he's the only Pokemon Nendoroid as of right now, I felt he'd look a bit lonely on my shell. I went about creating some Pokemon in the Nendoroid style to accompany Red when I receive him this September! :)

This Shiny Gardevoir figure measures 3.5" tall and features movable arms and a 6mm ball joint/pivot for the neck that allows it to turn and pivot. It turned out great! ... until I had to paint it. I'm very unhappy with how the paint turned out. Because I don't have the skills, tools, or patience to apply a quality paint job, the figure suffered. I had it primed and it looked great! Super smooth! Then I went to apply some paint any everything started to glob up and run. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm limited to the few colors I can find in spray cans. That's why I went with a shiny figure instead of a regular one. I couldn't find a suitable shade of green anywhere! The eye is a custom decal I made.

Would you still be making these? IF so what are your restrictions for pokemon? I'm looking into getting an Articuno shiny if possible. Maybe some Like Arcanine / Absol / Flygon.

I honestly don't even have a clue as to what one would cost. The biggest problem is I simply don't have the time to make these.

I bought an airbrush, paint, and everything else required to make and paint a small batch, but I just haven't been able to set aside the time required to do so. If I ever do make a small batch, I'll be sure to message you.

Sure is. I'm printing up a small batch of 30 right now. That's the nice thing about 3d printing, haha.

I actually plan on making a small run of these in the future, but before I do, I need to find a way to have them painted professionally.

I'm a perfectionist, so before I give or sell anybody anything, it has to be to *MY* liking. When I find a way to get them painted, I'll produce a small batch of around 25-50 regular and 10 or so shiny to sell. Nothing too large; don't want to get Nintendo'd. Because I'm, well.... *me*, I'll also designed a box for it, a custom foam insert, hand number everything, etc. Until then though, I don't want to sell them. My apologies.

Thanks, glad you like it! I actually printed this with my 3d printer, but that's not to say it's as simple as just printing. It takes a bit of work to get rid of ridges caused by each layer being built upon each other. I made the decals in Photoshop then printed them out on Testor's brand transparent decal paper. Unfortunately, shortly after taking this photo it fell from my top shelf and chipped off a huge chunk of its ear. :( Guess I'll have to print up another head!

I really need to find a professional painter though. The model is great and I can get it super smooth, but my paint job just ruins it...

They're a great thing to have, especially for a 3d artist. It provides a way to physically hold your work.
