Blaidd: Duality of a Cursed Soul

"No. I’m part of her very being! I could never betray her! No matter what might happen... Ranni... She needs me..."

This scene in Elden Ring was the first of many instances of me having my heart shatter, Blaidd is an incredibly deep and thought provoking character who on the surface may seem like that of what he looks like his lady's Loyal Wolf. But his lore as to who he is and more importantly WHAT he is makes his fate all the more heartbreaking. 😢 Blaidd is quite literally Lady Ranni's Shadow given life by the 2 Fingers/Greater Will to guard and protect their precious Empyrian princess, however the truth about how little these "gods" care for his life is haunting. For if Lady Ranni were to ever defy the will of these "gods" her loyal companion is cursed to become her worst nightmare, an unrelenting, unfeeling, ruthless beast that hunts her to the end of her days... whether he wants to or not.

Let me give this good boy the Miquella needle Fromsoft!  He doesn't deserve to die in such a pitiful way! 😭
(for context the Miquella needle is an item that severs an individual from the influence of outer gods such as the greater will)

This piece was an absolute blast to make and I'm definitely making more Elden ring fanart in the near future! Look forward to that!
