What Lurks in the Swamp

As Spartan-117 is launching an assault on Halo's Control Room to deny it to the Covenant, Centurion Damian-C151 leads a team of Marines to investigate a 'Weapons Cache' located in a dense swamp, where Captain Keyes, Fireteam Janus Team Leader Dominik-A068, and their Marine strike force had deployed to secure the supposed cache for the human forces stuck on the Ring.

It's has been nearly 8 hours since anyone had heard from the Captain or his team, with the only indicator that something had gone wrong was a single SOS sent from Dominik. No other messages have been received.

Once on the ground, Damian's first sign of trouble is the wreck of Dropship Victor 933, whose garbled message is playing on a loop but incomprehensible, and a eerily lone Marine helmet nearby. Unbeknownst to them, there is something far worse than the Covenant lurking in the swamp.

And here we are with some more Halo artwork, curtesy of Outlet on X. This time exploring one of Halo CE's most infamously missions. Really loving how this one turned out. Outlet knocked it out of the park as usual. Look forward to more Halo content in the near future as I put some more work on fleshing out the Diaspora Secunda universe I'm creating.
